The View I Love The Most

I'm sure that many of you have heard the country song "My Front Porch Looking In."  I will share a few of the lyrics so you will understand my thoughts.

i travel here and everywhere
followin my job
iv seen the paintings from the air
brushed by the hand of god
the mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea
but i cant wait to get bak home to the woman he made for me

cuz anywhere ill ever go and everywhere iv been
nuthin takes my breath away like my front porch lookin in

i see wut beautiful is about
when im lookin in
not when im lookin out

theres a carrot top that can barely walk
(from my front porch lookin in)
a lil blue eyed blonde w/ shoes on wrong
(from my front porch lookin in)
the most beautiful girl
holdin both of them

I was traveling with my son to Huntsville, Alabama the other day and these lyrics spoke louder than they ever have. Recently I catch myself taking mental snap shots of my son because he is growing so quickly before my eyes.

I like the view of my backyard but I love it when it is filled with footballs on the ground or water sprinklers left over from the previous day's play.  I love the view of my little boy sleeping. There is something so angelic about a child asleep.  His long lashes and his smooth baby skin remind me just how innocent he is at this age. I love the view when my son is running around chasing our pig or our bulldog.  I love the view I see when he is laughing hysterically at our cat.  The sound of laughter is one of the best sounds that fill our home.  Another view I love is watching my son read.  Hearing his sweet voice that recently learned how to read this past year brings a bittersweet smile to my face. The words that come from his mouth amaze me and are a constant reminder that he is getting older.  The view I see every night as I lay beside my son and listen to him pray. The words that flow from his big heart make my heart swell.  These are a few of my favorite views that money cannot buy.

If we can take the time to look around and realize our greatest blessings are free.  They sometimes pass before we realize the view that stared us in the face daily.  Take a look around you today and take mental snap shots of your favorite views.  Maybe you are reading this and you miss your favorite view.  I encourage you to look around.  What is it that you love to view?  Do you look at things from the inside out or do you look at them from the outside in?
