What If

What If...

How many times have you thought, "What if?"  It crosses my mind quite often. The other day, it made its way into my thoughts again. This time, it was in regards to people's words.  What if the only words we could speak were positive words?  Nothing negative could come from our mouths.  Think about it.  I know for me personally, it would be so encouraging.  Instead of always hearing gloom and doom, we would hear words that stimulate instead of hate.  Words that bring life instead of death.

Are you that person that's always complaining?  Do you always see the worst case scenario?  Perhaps you know someone in your life that always sees the bad instead of the good.

Have you ever called someone to tell them good news and instead of celebrating with you, they discourage you.  You could possibly be that person to someone else.  Instead of sharing their joy, you bring discouragement.

How our lives would change for the better if our words or the words of others could only speak life.  They could only be pleasing.  No one could slander another because they could only speak of the good in someones life.

What if? What if that was the case for you?  Would your words be few and far between because you rarely speak positive words?  Would you be able to even find positive words to speak over your life or those around you because you are so caught up in other what ifs?  If you are always seeing the negative in your life or those around you, then you are not living.  You are living a lifeless life.

I challenge you today, on Thanksgiving to watch your words.  Watch how you speak to those around you.  Watch how you speak over your own life.  What if we could all work on this one thing?  What if we could change our thought process?  What if we could begin speaking life where they may be death?  What if we saw the good instead of the bad?  What if we spoke positive words over others instead of negative words?

This is actually a what if that could benefit your life and those around you.  It's not a what if that you look back on and ponder over until you make yourself crazy.  This is a what if that could change your life.  It could bring joy instead of heartache.  Let your words be few if you don't have anything positive to say.  What if... it could change your life? Try it!
