Just What If

Several years ago I was talking with someone after they had made the decision to move their family across the country.  From the south to the north.  It was life changing for so many.

The day that they left to take the thousand mile trip everything started to go wrong.  Like everything.  I can't remember what all took place but I do remember what I said.  "How many signs do you need to turn back around? God is clearly trying to keep you home."

What was their response?

That's exactly what the enemy wants me to think.  The enemy wants me to think that I didn't hear from God.  He wants to keep me from trusting God.  What if... just what if these signs weren't from God but from the enemy.  Causing me to doubt.  Creating fear.  Allowing confusion to enter my mind.

Well, that's one way to look at it.  I really never thought about it like that.  Every time something in my life starts to fall apart... I immediately think that I am doing something wrong.  Clearly if things are falling apart then we must be doing something wrong, right?  Wrong!

Life isn't a bed of roses regardless of how good you are, how good you live or what good you do.

I wish that the better you were the better life was around you.  But think about those that have suffered around you?  I'm pretty sure that you have asked why something so bad could happen to someone so good.  Life happens.  It doesn't discriminate.  To be honest, I feel like those that try to live a "good" life tend to suffer the most.  I even have a book entitled, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"

I have had things literally fall apart day after day after day.  It's gotten to the point where I just giggle when something around me breaks.  I started to question things but the other day, I was reminded of what this person told me.

Just what if... what if the enemy wants you to second guess every single decision you make?  What if the enemy wants you to live in a state of doubt and confusion.  What if the enemy wants you to question where God is leading you?  Don't think for one second that the enemy wants to see you follow the path of God.

The enemy can create utter chaos in your life.

When the enemy wants to distract you... God says, "Watch me."

Just what if... what if this distraction is a diversion?  What if what God has for me for you, is right in front of our eyes but because the enemy has us second guessing everything, we miss it.

So next time you start to doubt... Remember...

Just what if your life is falling apart in order for God to put it back together?
